Happy New Year

A New Year, A Time for New Year’s resolutions

How often do you hear someone proclaiming that they want to quit smoking, getting more active, or become a ‘better’ person? Yes, it is that time of season again, when people start professing their new year’s resolutions again. Now the question is will you make some while you are enjoying your short stay in Amsterdam? And to make it easier we have listed the top 10 resolutions!

1. Getting fit

People want to lose weight, surely after a successful Christmas dinner and New Years celebration, which also ties into them wanting to exercise more and eat better. This has been top pick for a few years now, and generally speaking you see the people sticking to it, at least for a while.

2.Quit Smoking

Are you done with spending so much money or cigarettes, your clothes smelling like smoke, or just want to get in a healthier state of mind then this might be on your list of new year’s resolutions. The existence of nicotine replacements, laser therapy, hypno-therapy, and all sorts of ways to help you quit smoking could possibly help you to kick the tobacco. Even if you've tried to quit before and failed, don't let it get you down, try again in 2012. On average, smokers try about four times before they quit for good. Start enjoying the rest of your smoke-free life!

3.Money, money, money

Has money been a constant factor of stress this year, or do you just want to save up for a big trip, or big purchase then join millions of people who have done this in the past and got a handle on their finances. It will be a new years resolution that will pay itself of in the new years.

4.Learn something new

Are you determined to 2012 the year to learn something new? Perhaps you are considering a career change, want to learn a new language, or just want to learn how to fix your bike? Whether you take a course or read a book, you'll find education to be one of the easiest, most motivating New Year's resolutions to keep.

5.Spend more time with family/friends

Has the last year been hectic? Do days, weeks, and months just fly by and blend into one another and does the new year come just as fast as it has started? Then 2012 will be the year to spend more time with family and friends, I will try to do the same!

6.Love

I love you

Has 2011 been a year where you have not yet succeeded to find the love of your life, find a new love, or maybe rekindle the flame in your relationship? Then the start of a new year will also start new chances and op
portunities. 2012 will be YOUR year!

7.Get organized

Do you lead an international and fast-paced life, then I suspect that your new year’s resolution will be one of the things mentioned here – or maybe all. Time slips through our hands everyday and before you know it it’s the new year already, again.  Thus, it is necessary to manage time well, manage stress, and organize things well, something we at Htel also try to do everyday.

8.Help others

A popular, non-selfish New Year’s resolution, which also can be completed in many different forms. You can choose to mentor a child, build a house, work at a soup kitchen, or something completely different, such as: clothing donations, furniture, or food drives. Maybe your company has great activities and you wish to share these with us.

9.Enjoy Life

Life comes once and should be enjoyed as much as possible in the right way. Staying alone and isolated, and staying morose does not help. It is an individual’s duty to motivate oneself more and more so that they can reach the goal that they intend for. Therefore make a resolution to find a reason everyday to enjoy life, enjoy everything that you do and enjoy every little moment in life, and then the life becomes worth living.

10.Travel to new places

vacation 965867Popular travel destinations are getting further and further away, from our homes, in recent times. The more exotic, different, or cultural the better. Amsterdam attracts millions of visitors each year travelling to one of their new places, maybe it is on your list of new places to go to as well in 2012.

I hope that you enjoyed this top 10 New Year’s resolutions, but maybe you have your top 10 you wish to share with us on our Facebook Page

We all from Htel Serviced Apartments wish you a successful, pleasant, and enjoyable 2012.
