Expat special in Amsterdam: Movie Time!

There are no translations available.

Ready - Theatrical Release PosterWhen was the last time you went to the movies?  Has it been a while? I say it’s time to revive that feeling of watching a great movie on the big screen.

Here’s a unique outdoor event that brings Bollywood to the Zuidas in Amsterdam.

On Saturday the 6th of August at 9pm the Indian movie "Ready" from Salman Khan will be shown on the big screen right on the George Gershwinplein in Amsterdam. Everyone is welcome, and I definitely see this as a perfect get together for Indian expats in the Netherlands.

Here's an outline of what to expect from the movie:

Prem, heir to his father’s company 'Fragrance' perfumes is a bachelor wanting to enjoy life before getting married. His family does not approve of this and decides to search a bride for him - Pooja. Prem manages to pretend meeting his future wife at the airport, but avoids doing so by showing up at the wrong terminal, and uses an excuse that his to-be-wife did not show up.

A girl, Sanjana, which ran from her own wedding, overhears Prem’s plan to escape from his future wife at the airport. Sanjana herself just ran from her own wedding, and – to the frustration of Prem - pretends to be Pooja. She wins the hearts of the entire family, except for Prem, who gets very annoyed with her.

Meanwhile, Sanjana's uncles (the two are rivals) are trying to get her married to their brothers in law, and are both trying to locate her.

Prem himself also finds out the true identity of Sanjana, and she reveals the true situation. Prem actually falls in love with Sanjana, and decides to marry her. Sanjana however gets taken away by one of the uncles and Prem look s for a solution to marry her and to put her family back together.

Prem tries and succeeds in fooling both uncles by telling that their nephews should marry to the daughters of two American billionaires. Prem’s entire family is involved and playing different characters to trick Sanjana’s family. The result of course is that Prem can now marry Sanjana.

On the wedding day, the truth comes out, and the set-up falls into the water.
