Best Amsterdam Terraces
dinsdag, 12 juli 2011
It's summer. Vacation for most. The sun is shining and the atmosphere is great.
I love to grab a terrace when the weather is like this. I have made a selection of a couple of the best terraces to visit during a short stay in Amsterdam.
What better day try to think of the best terraces in town than today? The sun is calling, out loud, for all of us to have an icecold beer in the warmth.
With this feeling getting me all worked up and ready to head out, let me tell you which terraces are worth your wile visiting this summer.
Terrace Vertigo
Vondelpark 3, 1071 AA Amsterdam
Vertigo is a highly popular place. Once the sun comes out you can count on a brilliant atmosphere.
- An excellent combination with a visit to the film museum. Vertigo is right below the film museum. They also have free wifi, always nice if you want to bring your laptop to get rid of your last work obligations while having a coffee on the terrace
- Inside the Vondelpark, often referred to as the most beautiful park of Amsterdam
Bridges terrace in Hotel Sofitel the Grand Amsterdam
Oudezijds Voorburgwal 197, Inner City of Amsterdam

Everyone likesto do something a bit decadent every now and then right?
- One of the better kept secrets of the city of Amsterdam. This is an award winning terrace in an oasis of rest, away from the traffic and the busy town.
- An excellent choice of fresh fish and well chosen wines.
- View on the inner gardens of the hotel.
District V
Van der Helstplein 17, 1073 AR Amsterdam
This terrace is located in a quiet part of the Pijp. You'll find loads of cosy terraces in this trendy borough of Amsterdam. As District V is just off the busiest places within the Pijp, definitely worth checking it out.
- Small wooden tables. So everyone sits close together. Great for the atmosphere.
- Mediterranean focus, and the menu changes every 2 weeks.
Giving you this advice really got me thirsty. I am out of here. Gonna get myself a glass of wine.
Cheers,
