Amsterdam Art Exhibition by Josine Goosens
dinsdag, 26 juli 2011
Amsterdam is well known for the museums that can be visited in town with works from famous artists like Vincent Van Gogh and Rembrandt van Rijn.
At Htel Serviced Apartments we appreciate art, and accordingly we have a small inhouse collection of paintings by Josine Goosens.
Here’s a short special for all art lovers that are here for a short stay in Amsterdam.
The best way to describe the work of Josine Goosens I believe is: monumental structures, permanently floating high above the viewer.
Her paintings refer to existing architecture and realistic structures. There is however no completely recognizable link between the real world and her art work.

As you can see in the painting above as an example Josine painted several existing cities and villages in the Netherlands. Knowing the cities she painted quite well personally, I can assure you that there’s no immediate resemblance between the actual cities in the paintings infrastructure and architecture.
All Josine’s works are also recognizable because of the complete absence of human life.
The exteriors of the buildings keep us all at a safe distance. Simultaneously we are drawn towards the structures because of this feeling of emptiness that exists between us and the elements.
We have a number of her works exhibited at Htel Amsterdam and they are available for sale.
I hope you'll enjoy her work.
With kind regards,
