Amsterdam Restaurant and Bar Tips 1
Saturday, 20 November 2010
Amsterdam is packed with good restaurants and bars. There are so many that sometimes it can be hard to choose. We have put together a short list of 3 restaurant and bar tips for your short stay in Amsterdam.

The first restaurant is called Pont13, this is an old ferry build in 1927. It has been used for more than 70 years and was going to be demolished. Nowadays the current owners have restored the whole ship but it still feels very authentic. Some elements have been restored while others have been giving a new function. The kitchen of the restaurant is very traditional and dishes are prepared on open fire. Pont13 is more than a restaurant; this is not only because of the unique location but also because of its nice and relaxed atmosphere.
The second bar where you must go to is Bar Italia; it’s a cafe, espresso bar and restaurant all in one. It is the perfect place if you like an Italian espresso, good food or when you just want to have a drink. On the menu are authentic Italian dishes for a reasonable price. Bar Italia is situated in a monumental building, just a few minutes away from the Royal Palace and the Dam. It is a modern interpretation of the typical Italian bars and restaurants. Inside it has an industrial feeling with lots of steel, concrete, wood and stone. It is always busy at Bar Italia especially in the weekends; therefore don’t forget to book if you want to have dinner there. And if it is not enough, at night it turns into a happening bar, a great melting pot of traders and a local hip crowd.
The last restaurant that I want to point out to you is more than a restaurant, it’s a whole experience. With Rederij Lovers you can have a luxury dinner on a ship while cruising through the canals of Amsterdam. This is a two hour canal cruise which will show you the best places while you are enjoying your 4 courses dinner. The dinner is all-inclusive so you won’t have to worry about anything. Prices for this cruise are very reasonable this makes it even more worth considering. See all the beautiful monumental buildings by night; this is something that you have to experience.
Enjoy and relax!
